ZoomCar Age Requirement and Licence Rules
Updated June 2026 · General guide — each listing shows its own requirement
What is the minimum age for ZoomCar?
The minimum age is listed on each car's booking page before payment, and premium and large SUVs — including the Fortuner, Thar, and XUV700 — may need a higher age. On Zymo, the minimum age depends on the partner: usually 21, and some accept 18.
Driving licence age requirement
Holding a valid licence is not always sufficient on its own: the licence usually needs to be at least 1 year old (check the listing), and some premium cars may ask for more. The listing shows the exact requirement.
Age and licence requirements by car
Requirements vary by car, city and listing. Premium and full-size SUVs (Fortuner, Thar, XUV700) may need a higher age or an older licence — always verify on the specific listing.
International tourists
International tourists can rent on ZoomCar subject to the same age requirement shown on the listing. You must carry:
- A valid International Driving Permit (IDP) covering India
- Your original home-country driving licence
- A valid passport
The IDP is issued by your home country's motoring authority and must be carried alongside the original licence — not as a standalone document.
Age verification when booking through Zymo
When you book a ZoomCar through Zymo, the same age and licence requirements apply — Zymo does not alter ZoomCar's eligibility criteria. Zymo's Aadhaar OTP verification after booking also confirms your identity and date of birth, which means age verification is completed before you reach the pickup point rather than at the hub.
